Deana Mitchell is a photographer and filmmaker based in Austin. Raised in Missouri, Deana was drawn to photographing people as a child, particularly close-up portraits. She studied photojournalism and Spanish at the University of Missouri before earning her Master’s in Documentary Journalism at UC-Berkeley. She has worked and lived in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Spain, Mexico and worked for various newspapers, ABC News in New York and VOA, based in DC.
